About DePaul Academic Freedom Committee

The DePaul Academic Freedom Committee (AFC) is an student organization that seeks address violations of academic freedom at DePaul University in Chicago, IL, USA. The intial campaign which led to the creation of the DePaul AFC and this website was that in support of Dr. Norman Finkelstein and the politically motivated manner in which his tenure was denied.

The DePaul AFC has been reorganized in 2011 as part of a campaign in favor of Dr. Namita Goswami of the Department of Philosophy, who has been denied tenure and represents a grave violation of academic freedom. We have sought to put up all relevant documents for her case on this website.

Since the case of Dr. Finkelstein, DePaul University has been the subject of a number of academic freedom controversies and this site has sought to keep track of the university's issues.
